Por lo menos es el deseo de Mark Shuttleworth.

Según sus propias palabras, expresadas en su blog, la próxima meta a cumplir para Ubuntu es que su escritorio sea tan potente en diseño y prestaciones como lo es en la actualidad el de Mac OS X.

Para lograr tan ambicioso plan esta dispuesto a invertir varios millones de dólares en la contratación de programadores de X, OpenGL, GTK, Qt, GNOME y KDE. Con esto espera que la nueva interfaz de usuario sea realmente espectacular.

Será un importante reto para la gente detrás de Ubuntu, esperemos que no se queden sólo en palabras.
